Youth for Unity in Diversity
Project Aim and Objectives
This project aims to empower young people in promoting diversity and tolerance in order to fight the negative stereotypes such as hate speech, discrimination, exclusion through engaging and raising awareness among their peers while sharing the values of a diverse community where citizens can live in harmony regardless their differences. In order to achieve this, the project is designed following an action plan for implementation that is based on three specific objectives that will help us to conclude the desired impact and results.
Specifically, this project intends to:
1. Build youth capacities directly by training them through non-formal education methods on the process of building peace and tolerance, as well as equipping them with appropriate skills and knowledge to fight negative stereotypes in their community and to promote a diverse society.
2. Engage young people to become actors in the process of promoting a society based on diversity and tolerance in their community through participating in activities that fight negative stereotypes such as hate speech, discrimination, exclusion and prejudice.
3. Raise awareness among community members for a diverse society while promoting tolerance and fostering a mindset to consider equality and mutual respect as essentials in a society.
Project Aim and Objectives
Training Implementation 23-26 September 2022 – Training for young people on the topic of diversity with a special approach to the promotion of human rights, tolerance and peace among different community groups by fighting discrimination, exclusion, hate speech, bullying and other negative stereotypes that violate the principles of a diverse community.
Specifically, during this activity, 25 young people were trained through non-formal education methods during a 4 day program that brought together young people from different community groups to empower them around the topic of diversity and make them important actors to put the skills and knowledge into practice in their community.
Follow-Up – In this phase, the trained participants got engaged in implementation of 5 workshops by making it possible for them to take part in promoting diversity in their community by promoting peace and tolerance and using the knowledge and skills gained during the training to other young people in the community.
Participants had the space to carry out their own activities among young people in their community, such as in schools, universities, youth organizations, etc. Their objectives to have an impact in the community were also achieved mainly through online campaigning including videos messages in the framework of the project as well as the publication of different products such as: posters, podcasts, short movies, manual and other promoting materials.

Workshops
Workshop - The importance of social service in promoting diversity
During this workshop, the participants were introduced to the term diversity and the types of diversity. They discussed negative stereotypes as a result of diversity, including discrimination and more. Through the study of some concrete cases from everyday life, the young people managed to understand the role and importance of the psycho-social service in a community where we find several types of diversity.

During this workshop, young people trained within the “Youth for Unity in Diversity” project had the opportunity and space to share with other young people from Shijak, knowledge and information about the topic of diversity, bringing personal experiences and examples of diversity. from everyday life.
Workshop - The importance of diversity in schools - the fight against negative stereotypes
The young people trained within the “Youth for Unity in Diversity” project held a workshop with the students of the “Mihal Ekonomi” school on the topic of diversity. Through non-formal methods, students were introduced to the topic of diversity, the importance of diversity in school and in the community, and discussed their role as an important factor in promoting diversity in their community.
Workshop with young high school students - We fight negative stereotypes
During the session where the young people worked in groups, they had the space to reflect on their role to contribute to the improvement of the current situation in society. The solutions they identified were based on promoting the benefits of diversity and informing young people how they can respond to negative stereotypes.
