Be a Buddy not a Bully
Project Aim and Objectives
This project aims to empower and engage young people to say no to bullying among young people and the community while promoting human rights throughout a process of development and empowerment for young people as well as through direct engagement in the community in actions that address bullying as an issue and raise awareness of the negative effects.
Specifically, the project intends to:
- Empower at least 30 young people in the topic of bullying by pointing out causes and effects and increasing the understanding as well as building skills and knowledge throughout a learning process based on non-formal education tools for human rights education.
- Engage young people to fight bullying of any kind and to promote a society based on values and respect for human rights by giving young people space to take a key role in this process.
- Raise awareness among young people and all community members about the negative effects of bullying and the importance of a society based on values and respect for human rights.
Project Aim and Objectives
Phase 1 – Training for Youth
The first phase of the project consists of the implementation of a 5 days training activity that will bring together 30 young people. Participants will go through a training programme that is based on tools of non-formal education method that aims to put participants in a learning environment and give them the space for self-empowerment and improvement of their competencies in the topic o bullying and human rights.
Phase 2 – Follow-Up
The second phase of the project is the phase where the trained participants are expected to get engaged in their community with the aim to fight bullying of any kind while promoting human rights through awareness-raising actions. In this phase, a wide project impact is expected through the dissemination of the awareness products that are to be created such as:
Online campaigning with illustration pictures and posters with messages regarding bullying.
Preparation and publication of short awareness videos where participants share their personal thoughts and experiences.
Preparation of professional video that showing the world from the perspective of e person that is being bullied.
Campaigning on Social Media/YouTube and Website.
Promotion through podcast and TV shows.
Participants will have space and the support to take actions and carry out their own activities among young people in their community, such as in schools, university, youth organizations, youth clubs and forums, etc.

Workshops
Workshop - Gender Based Bullying
Participants learned that Gender based bullying is when someone is bullied on the basis of their gender and is sometimes rooted in sexism.
Workshop - Feminism
Participants learned about feminism as a concept and women’s role in society. They also got informed about women role models in Albania.
Workshop - Sexual harassment
Participants learned the definition of sexual harassment and its types. They also got informed how to protect themselves from different types of sexual harassment and institutions where these cases can be reported.
